Department: Land

Reports to: Lease Analyst Manager



The Senior Lease Analyst supports the land department in organizing and managing the land system and lease records, which determine ownership for producing and non-producing mineral properties.  This position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines from the supervising Landmen and Lease Analyst Manager to perform the job functions.



o   Knowledge with on-shore Texas and/or Louisiana Oil and Gas rules and regulations

o   Ability to set up multifaceted properties for Operated and Non-Operated properties

o   Thorough understanding and accurate input of the primary Oil and Gas Contracts and leases associated with these multifaceted properties

o   In-depth knowledge of land titles

o   Review and set up obligation payments applicable to leases and contracts

o   Run and maintain acreage reports

o   Sound understanding of all aspects of acquisition and divestiture documents

o   Proactive thinker for improving and streamlining processes for efficiency

o   Draft instruments and Exhibits for instruments under the direction and supervision of the Landmen

o   Ability to learn, maintain, and troubleshoot Enertia, as it applies to Land functions, is preferred, including acreage accuracy, all payment types, additional lease provisions, etc.

o   Maintain updated status of current leasehold issues and/or drilling availability of the lease position on all prospects to make available to Management

o   Any and all additional Land functions in support of the Landmen, Management, and the Tanos team.

o   Compliance and completion of Company HSE requirements



·         Minimum of 5 consecutive years working as an in-house lease analyst

·         Superior attention to detail

·         Ability to differentiate between an immediate priority and all other requests to timely effectuate the completion of the assigned tasks

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·         Organized work habits

·         Team player

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe DC

·         Must have had consistent Land Systems training and use of such Land Systems input (ex., Quorum, VLP, Excalibur, Tobin, etc.)

·         Punctual and reliable job attendance

·         Ability to efficiently and quickly transition from task to another



·         High School Diploma or GED

·         Bachelor’s Degree and/or CPLTA preferred

·         Must have a thorough working knowledge of terminology and procedures
